Class Receptions

Hosting class receptions is a tradition at Lake Erie College that dates back to 1926. A new aspect of the tradition was added in 2007. Instead of one reception honoring all students at the College, there are now separate receptions that honor each class individually.

The class receptions are hosted by President Victor at the Manor House and feature decorations bearing each class’s own colors.

Local members of the alumni association introduce the students to traditional college songs and the Founder’s Day song. To end the evening, each class is given a tour of the Manor House wine cellar and rathskeller.

The senior class reception is a black-tie cocktail party hosted prior to commencement. The graduates are welcomed into the Lake Erie College Alumni Association. President Victor gives the students parting words of wisdom and every student receives a gold lapel pin featuring the College Seal.
