Marc Barbeau

Marc R. Barbeau serves as vice president for institutional advancement at Lake Erie College. He brings more than 18 years of experience in development, non-profit management, institutional leadership and marketing to this important administrative position. As a non-traditional student, Barbeau received his bachelor of arts degree with a major in business administration from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wis., where he began his development career as director of leadership gifts. He then worked for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater as director of advancement for the College of Arts and Communication. He returned to his alma mater (now renamed Carroll University) as director of gift planning and estate services, then as senior advancement officer for gift planning and estate services.
In 2008, Barbeau began his service as vice president for institutional advancement at Northland College in Ashland, Wis. In this role he led the development, alumni relations and advancement services team of the college. In addition to his duties as vice president, he had oversight of the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute and led the establishment of the Chequamagon Bay Area Partnership. Previous to his career in advancement, Barbeau worked as regional marketing director for Up with People, Inc., where he was responsible for all aspects of tour management and marketing for the Midwestern United States and Eastern Canada. Barbeau oversees fundraising, government relations, marketing, public relations and alumni relations under the division of institutional advancement.
