Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Lake Erie College first offered the Master of Business Administration degree in 1981. Since then, over six hundred men and women have earned their MBAs at Lake Erie. This high-quality program enables those who complete it to expand their horizons and assume progressively wider managerial responsibilities. Classes are small, and are taught by highly qualified faculty – individuals with substantial managerial experience as well as advanced academic credentials.
Who should pursue the Lake Erie MBA?
- If you have outgrown the narrow functional specialization with which you began your career, you are ready to undertake the Lake Erie MBA.
- If you want to become empowered to take on greater managerial challenges, you are ready to undertake the Lake Erie MBA. You may want to advance as a manager, or you may want to develop your own business. You may be in the public or the private sector, work in a non-profit or a for-profit enterprise, or you may own your own business. All of these areas are represented in our current students and our alumni. We are dedicated to empowering mature, ambitious, adults.
In Lake Erie MBA classes, students learn to understand and integrate all of the functional areas of an organization, rather than to develop specialized expertise in performing any one of them. Working in teams, students gain a sophisticated understanding of the wider business environment, including major cultural, legal, and economic trends that have serious implications for organizations. The classes sharpen students’ abilities to analyze complicated situations and to make good decisions under pressure and amidst uncertainty.
Designed for working adults
The Lake Erie MBA is designed for working adults. The traditional program offers classes on weeknights. Each class meets one night per week the entire semester. The FastTrac program offers classes on the weekend in an accelerated format, allowing student the opportunitity to finish their degree in only 11 months.
Most clases are offered at Parkhill Professional Building located in Willoughby on Euclid Avenue.Some classes, particularly those making use of computer labs, are offered at the historic main campus of Lake Erie College in Painesville. Additional sites may be developed in the future.
All MBA students are eligible for access via modem to the Lake Erie computer system. |
