ED 1303 SMART Boards: Creating Lessons with Notebook Software (1SH)

SMART Notebook software enables you to create and organize interactive lessons for use with SMART boards. We will dig deeper into using drawing tools, text feature, and the gallery clip art to make your lessons come alive. Adding sound, film clips and hyperlinks to the Internet will also be covered. Learn how to import Word documents and PowerPoint presentations into SMART Notebook software. Bring your standards, manuals, and resources to help you create lessons specific to your needs. This seminar is suitable for teachers in grades pre-K through 12. Prerequisite: “Getting Smarter with SMART Boards” or experienced with using SMART Boards. This class is for the intermediate to advance level user. |

ED 1308 Getting Smarter with SMART Boards (1SH)

Explore using interactive whiteboard technology with SMART Boards to motivate students and enhance the teaching-learning process for large and small group instruction. Discover numerous instructional presentations and interactive resources already created and available online that will enable you to immediately implement whiteboard technology in your classroom. A basic overview of SMART Notebook software, as well as how to integrate PowerPoint and Word with SMART Board technology, will be presented. Class time will include demonstration of the SMART Board with an opportunity for small groups to interact with the technology, plus time in a computer lab to explore and create presentations that can be used with SMART Boards. This seminar is suitable for teachers in grades pre-K through 12 and is designed for those with beginning to intermediate skills in using a SMART Board. |

Investigate the many Internet resources that will facilitate lesson planning for grades PreK-12. Ohio’s Instructional Management System, the Ohio Department of Education’s online tool for communicating model curricula, will be examined along with other helpful websites with lesson plans and practical ideas for learning activities. Learn how to find activities and online resources specific to your grade level, objectives and topics of study.
ED 1316 Using Dreamweaver for Web Page Design 4.0 (1 SH)

Discover how to make PowerPoint presentations more interactive to take advantage of SMART Board features. Resources for finding g already created PowerPoint presentations that are available on Internet will be shared. A basic understanding of how to use SMART Board and Microsoft PowerPoint is helpful, but not required. |

Discover numerous PowerPoint presentations already created and available on the Internet then learn how to develop your own PowerPoint presentations. This seminar is suitable for any teacher of reading in grades K-12, including tutors and content area teachers. A basic understanding of how to use Microsoft PowerPoint is helpful, but not required. |

The thinking can be creative or critical, and involve problem solving, judgment, analysis, or synthesis. In this course you will learn where to find already created by teachers like you and how to create your own. |

ED 1325 Digital Photography (1 SH)

This seminar will provide students with an introduction to digital images. Students will learn to take digital photographs, scan photographs and digitally manipulate images using Adobe Photoshop. NO camera is needed. However, bring a blank diskette (formatted for IBM) and several of your favorite pictures for scanning (no larger than 8X10). Bring a USB port memory stick/mini vault to save your work. |
