Frequently Asked Questions

FAQHow long will it take to complete a degree?
If you come in with an Associates Degree in Business, you could complete your degree in 14 months if you take advantage of accelerated scheduling. With the FasTracoption, you could complete the Bachelors Degree in two years while attending classes on Saturdays only and taking the summers off. If you prefer to work at a more relaxed pace, you can take as much time as you like. It's your degree. It's your choice.

Will credits earned at other colleges count toward my degree?
Yes, appropriate credits earned from any accredited institution of higher education will transfer to Lake Erie College.

Can credit be given for what I have learned outside of the formal classroom setting?
Yes, Lake Erie College encourages students to take advantage of several means for assessing credit for prior college-level learning. This includes assessment of credit though the development of a prior-learning portfolio, College Level Examination Program (CLEP) examinations, and training courses that have been reviewed by the American Council on Education.

Is it possible for Weekend College students to take classes during the day or on weekday evenings?
Yes, Weekend College students may choose to take regular class offerings in the evening or during the day.
