The finance major is designed for students seeking a deeper understanding of the financial environment under which businesses operate as well as preparing graduates for specific careers in the banking and financial industry. The major provides students with greater insight into the working of the financial system, different investment vehicles available to both individual and institutional investors, portfolio management and risk management in a global economy as well as key areas in corporate finance including capital budgeting, project finance and asset and debt management. Students completing the finance program will have a better understanding of financial theory and practice in order to apply the knowledge successfully to a wide range of financial issues – on both a business and personal level. |

Optional internships enable students to integrate and apply their learning while opening the door to potential career opportunities in finance. The major also offers excellent preparation for further study at the graduate or professional school level. The finance major prepares students to take on positions in financial and budget analysis, credit analysis and credit management, retail, corporate and investment banking, personal financial advising, insurance and real estate, as well as managerial roles in a wide variety of business organizations. |

It will provide greater insight into the working of the financial system, different investment vehicles available to both individual and institutional investors, portfolio management and risk management in a global economy. Students completing this program should have a better understanding of the financial theory and practice so as to apply the knowledge successfully to solve a wide range of business and personal problems. The program builds on the foundation of the core business administration major with a focus on financial management of corporations and money management.
