Welcome to Fine Arts
Studies
in the Fine Arts are rooted in an interdisciplinary approach.
A companion to the Liberal Arts concept, this philosophy suggests
that a student who possesses a broader experience with and
gains a greater understanding of the various creative processes
in the arts, will become a more sensitive, expressive and
effective artist. Therefore, Lake Erie College has abandoned
the traditional "major" in the individual arts disciplines
in favor of the more appropriate "concentration"
within the Fine Arts major. All academic tracks require students
to explore at least two other art disciplines besides that
of their concentration.
