Brian McGee is in his third season as the Lake Erie College head coach after serving as the assistant varsity and head junior varsity coach at Greensboro College from 2003-07. In his first year directing the Storm, his squad earned the greatest number of wins in a season in program history with 17. The team also earned its highest Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) finish of third place after earning the greatest number of league wins (10) in the College’s six years of AMCC membership. The team earned its first bid to the postseason, winning twice in the first round of the AMCC Tournament in order to make it to the semifinals. McGee’s players earned more conference accolades last season, than in any prior year, while receiving Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-Star and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Rawlings all-region team honors for the first time in program history.

In 2008, the team set five program game records, and on an individual basis, set four game and 11 season records. The Storm also finished the season ranked in the top 100 among all NCAA Division III teams in five statistical categories, including sacrifice bunts (6th), home runs (25th), home runs per game (31st), slugging percentage (40th) and batting average (89th).

Competing as an independent provisional DII team in 2009, McGee's squad just missed the 2007 team's win total, finishing with 16 wins and set or tied 41 different school records.

Prior to coming to Lake Erie, McGee was the infield and third base coach for the Pride at Greensboro, leading the infield to its best statistical performances in the program's history. In 2006, the Pride infield finished 12th in the nation in fielding percentage. McGee also served as the assistant director and facility manager for Greensboro's student recreation center.

McGee's additional coaching experience includes serving as the head coach of the Lake Erie Monarchs of the Great Lakes League in the summer of 2006 and as an assistant for the Wilmington Sharks of the Coastal Plain League in the summer of 2004.

A native of Lorain, Ohio, McGee's early coaching stints include a head position at Lorain Catholic High School in the spring of 2003, an assistant position at the University of Toledo from 2001-02 and an assistant varsity and head freshman position at St. Frances High School in the spring of 2001.

McGee is a 1996 graduate of Amherst Marion L. Steele High School and a 2000 graduate of Tiffin University. He was a four-year letter winner as a starting third baseman and outfielder for the Dragons. He was a team captain, earned all-conference and was selected to Team USA to compete in Austria, Czechoslovakia and Germany. He earned his bachelor's degree in sports management from Tiffin before earning a master's degree in recreation and leisure studies from the University of Toledo in 2002.
