How did you find out about the internship?
Dr. Culotta recommended that I check to see if Geauga Academy had a need for an intern. I also had made a contact with the principal during one of my previous classes.

How long did it take you to secure the internship position?
I was offered the position immediately after my interview.

Did the Career Services Office help you in acquiring the internship? If so, please explain how.
Career Services helped me update my résumé which allowed me to look more professional when presenting it during the interview.

Describe the responsibilities within your internship.
During my internship, I worked with the students in areas such as academics, goal setting and future plans. I also assisted my supervisor with daily duties such as student meetings, researching career speakers and colleges. I was given a wide range of opportunities during my internship that I believe will be very beneficial for me in the future.

List three to five highlights from your internship.
Working with three specific students, assisting with the parent project, gaining a better understanding of the social work field, having the opportunity to work with a great staff, and getting to know the students.

What is one aspect of your internship that you would have wanted to change?
I would have liked to spend and an entire year at the school. I would have been able to experience a lot more.

Did your internship confirm your anticipated career choice or path?
My internship helped me confirm that I want to work with and help people, but whether I want to do that through social work or psychology is still not decided.

Now that you have completed an internship, what advice would you give students about internships?
Internships are very helpful. Everyone should have at least one and start looking for one early. Internships will teach you and help you gain experiences which will prepare you for your future.
