Internships

Lake Erie College views practical experience as an important part of our academic program. Internships are a means of gaining academic credit for career-related work experience. This professional work experience also makes the student intern more marketable when the job hunting process begins during Senior year. The College has many internship sites in our locale, in other states, and abroad. Students may elect to intern for one or two semesters or for the duration of the summer. A student may earn from two to five credits in internships. They are supervised by on-site or field supervisors as well as faculty members.
Some places our students have held internships in recent years are: Channel 19 WOIO-TV, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Spero Financial Corporation in Beachwood, Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District in Painesville, Lake County Forensics Psychiatric Clinic in Painesville, Curragh Stables in Forth Worth, Texas and Winterset Farms in Parker, Colorado.
Internships are available with The National Park Services, The CIA, and Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (U.S. Dept. of Energy). Depending on how adventurous you are – the possibilities are virtually unlimited. |
