The finance major is designed for students seeking a deeper
understanding of the financial environment under which
businesses operate. It will provide greater insight into the
working of the financial system, different investment vehicles
available to both individual and institutional investors,
portfolio management and risk management in a global
economy. Students completing this program should have a
better understanding of the financial theory and practice so
as to apply the knowledge successfully to solve a wide range
of business and personal problems. The program builds on
the foundation of the core business administration major
with a focus on financial management of corporations and
