Teachers in Training

Notes from the Director – Mrs. Debbie Mostad
We have five candidates who are student teaching this fall. Two of the five student teachers are in districts where we have not had placements before: Parma City and Grand Valley Local. It is exciting to work with new districts that are eager to take our candidates!
Early Childhood
Bill Kinder is student teaching in first grade at Leroy Elementary School in the Riverside Local Schools. His cooperating teacher, Abby Keck Hartmann, is a 2002 graduate of Lake Erie College, so we are thrilled that Bill is working with her.
Middle Childhood
Vicki Dodich, Martha Portner and Laura Shobert are student teaching in middle childhood.
Vicki Dodich is at Eastlake Middle School in the Willoughby-Eastlake School District, and she is working with sixth grade teachers Betsy Fenell in Science and Derek Grabski in Math.
Martha Portner is at Grand Valley Middle School working with Beth Carlson in sixth grade science and Melanie Shipman in seventh grade math.
Laura Shobert is in the Riverside Local Schools. The first half of her student teaching will be at LaMuth Middle School in seventh grade language arts with Cassandre Borsukoff Smolen, and the second half will be at John R. Williams Junior High in eigth grade social studies with Sharon Landgraf.
Adolescence/Young Adult—Language Arts
Reanna Laszlo is student teaching at Parma High School. She is working with Victoria Franz in English Nine and Mike Ravanelli in English 10 and 11 (the Parma City Schools have three high schools: Parma, Valley Forge, and Normandy; Rey is a graduate of Normandy). |
