
The Center for Entrepreneurship
Established in 2007, the Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE) is a collaborative effort reaching across all the Learning Communities at Lake Erie College and throughout the Northeast Ohio business communities.
Mission and Vision
The mission of the CFE "seeks to prepare and inspire the students of Lake Erie College to act entrepreneurially by positively influencing their ability, confidence and willingness to start and grow successful new ventures."
The vision of the CFE at Lake Erie College is for all team members of the LEC community to explore and develop their ideas beyond the classroom and see themselves as entrepreneurs who can add value to their communities and profit from their passions. To Innovate with their creativity, Activate through hands-on project based experiences and to Collaborate with others who find innovative solutions that provide an enduring foundation for living in our complex and demanding society.
The goals of Entrepreneurship at Lake Erie College:

Integrate the concepts of entrepreneurship into the liberal arts through curricular and extra-curricular activities that reach all students

Help students see themselves as entrepreneurs who can add value to their communities and profit from their passions

Provide opportunities for every student to discover their true passion and to develop the mindset, skills and knowledge necessary to achieve their aspirations

Help students generate the vision and sense of connectedness necessary to challenge conventional wisdom and to discover hidden opportunities

Prepare students with the analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and to evaluate possible solutions

Help students develop the interpersonal and leadership skills through a variety of on an off-campus activities to enable them to take the initiative to implement the chosen solution.
The Center for Entrepreneurship at Lake Erie College is a member of the Northeast Ohio Collegiate Entrepreneurship Program (NEOCEP) and the Kauffman Campuses Initiative. Program funding is provided by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation (Hudson, Ohio) and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation (Kansas City, Mo.). LEC is also a member of the Entrepreneurship Education Consortium (EEC) with Ashland University, Baldwin Wallace College, Case Western University, Cleveland State University, Hiram College, John Carroll University, Kent State University and the University of Akron.
