Equine Studies Program

Program Overview

The equine industry is diverse and ever-changing. Lake Erie College graduates have the skills, knowledge and intellectual flexibility to be successful in this environment. Students enrolled in the Equine Studies major are awarded the Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Studies. Our courses, internships and real-life skill development provide students with a unique blend of academic rigor and technical expertise. This combination of a liberal arts foundation, major courses of study and hands-on experience provides the best preparation for any equine-related career.

Our experienced faculty is comprised of a full-time veterinarian, international experts, distinguished alumni and local accomplished equestrians. Our residential barn staff takes pride in the Lake Erie College herd and provides the best possible care of both College and student-owned horses.
