Our Horses

These are just a select few of the the horses we have in our barns.

CORDIAL –17.1 Oldenburg g. “Cordial” came to us after an illustrious career on the “A” circuit in both the Junior and Children’s hunters. His owners decided on a career change and he received a year of dressage training from a nationally renowned trainer. “Cordial” is currently training 2nd level and competing at Training level with our students and is a “permission only” ride for our advanced riders. Despite his size, his “pony personality” and lovely face make him a school favorite.
DAKS FIFTH AVENUE – 16 h. Rhinelander/TB mare. A stand-out in our hunter program, “Daks” has been with us since 2002. In her prior life she won numerous pre-green and equitation championships on the “A” circuit. Daks is a favorite draw in IHSA competitions and has been a top ribbon winner in our Prix de Villes Hunter Derby several times. “Daks” wins the hearts of everyone who is fortunate enough to ride her.

SIENNA – 16 h. TB g.. “Hawk” has been with our program since 2007. He is a schoolmaster in the hunter ring after a successful career on the “A” circuit. “Hawk” has done it all, from the Regular Working hunters to the Adult Amateurs. He has truly “been there, done that” and has the ego to match!

IN THE SKY – 16.1 h. Swedish WB mare. “Skylar” came to us in 2007 fresh from the Level 5 and Junior Jumpers in Wellington. Her talent, temperament and willingness make her the perfect horse upon which to learn the art of riding a jumper. “Skylar” is one of the anchors of our competition jumper team.

DOLCE MIO – 16.3 h. Dutch WB g. “Mio” came to us in 2008 from the “A” circuit hunters in search of a new career. He is now a linchpin of our dressage program and a favorite of the students. “Mio” has lovely, fluid gaits that lend themselves to his 2nd & 3rd level work. We are truly fortunate to have him.

SKYE – 16.2 h. Bavarian WB g. “Skye” is a talented, charismatic jumper who had a successful career in the “A” circuit jumpers. His quirky personality and amazing athletic ability make him a fantastic partner for the educated jumper rider. “Skye” has represented the school in numerous shows, including showing his versatility by being a favorite draw at the IEA National Championships.
GRAY’S ANATOMY – 15.3 TK/TB g. “Piper” has quickly become a favorite in both the hunter and jumper program. Donated in 2009, “Piper” is a talented 3’ horse with the ability to show in both disciplines. He came to us from an “A” circuit show barn after being outgrown by his owner. “Piper” is the consummate show horse and an excellent, patient teacher for a young horse.
RAMBELL – 16.2 Danish WB g. “Rambell”, a son of the illustrious sire “Rambo”, had a hugely successful career prior to his donation in 2001. Numerous championships through Second level and schooling 4th level/PSG made him a perfect choice for our advanced dressage students. “Rambell” has also proven himself in the hunters – a second career he learned here at LEC. He is an exceptional athlete who continues to impress us with his kindness and work ethic.
WILLIE – 16 h. TB g. “Willie” came to us from New Hampshire after competing up and down the East coast of America. Successful in the Children’s hunters, Equitation, and Children’s Jumpers – including numerous wins in the Marshall & Sterling – “Willie” is a fantastic addition to our hunter/jumper programs. He has a kind personality, calm demeanor, and great athletic ability.
