Lake Erie College Presents an Organ Concert Featuring Dr. Mark Bell (02/17/2013)

Lake Erie College will hold an organ concert on Sunday, February 17 from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the Morley Music Building with Associate Professor of French and German and the College organist, Dr. Mark Bell.

Dr. Bell will play works by famous composers including Bach, Mendelssohn, Scheidt, Tournemire and Walcha on the Ernest M. Skinner Organ, Opus 647. Organ studies were with J.J. Keeler, a student of Karl Straube at the Leipzig Conservatory 1932-1933; and Renate Meierj√ľrgen, successor to Helmut Walcha at the Dreik√∂nigskirche in Frankfurt, Germany. He has played in master classes with Flor Peeters and Dr. Frank Scheffler (Frankfurt Conservatory), and given numerous recitals in Belgium, Canada, Germany, France, the Netherlands, England, Scotland and the U.S.

The concert is free and open to the community. For more information, contact Dr. Bell at The Morley Music Building is not handicap-accessible. Free parking is available on the west end of the music building.
