Planned Giving

Thank you for considering Lake Erie College as a planned giving recipient. We are grateful for your trust and commitment. Planned gifts can be handled in many ways - as a gift through your will, charitable gift annuity, gift of life insurance, charitable trust or others. Often, a planned gift provides a means for an individual to make a larger gift than originally thought possible. And often, current income and estate taxes can be reduced.
Charitable Bequest
A charitable bequest is the easiest way to provide the "ultimate gift" to Lake Erie College. By making a provision in your will to leave a financial gift or a donation of property or goods to Lake Erie, you can perpetuate your life interest and influence into the future. A bequest can also be made by simply adding a codicil to an existing will.
A Life Income Gift
You irrevocably transfer assets to Lake Erie College and we agree to provide you (and a survivor of your choice) with a fixed amount of income annually for your lifetime.
Gifts of Life Insurance
You can make Lake Erie College the owner/beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy, and your estate will receive an estate tax deduction for the gift. If you make Lake Erie College the owner and beneficiary of your insurance policy, you will reduce your eventual estate and estate taxes.
Gifts of Retirement Plans
You can designate Lake Erie College as a beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k), 403(b) or other pension or retirement plan. By naming Lake Erie College, you will ensure that your estate will receive an estate tax charitable deduction. You can designate a specific amount or a percentage of the death benefit, and you can restrict your gift to a specific purpose or make an unrestricted gift to the College.
Gifts of Real Estate
You may give your home or vacation home to Lake Erie College as a life estate, take a tax deduction for the property, and continue to occupy the house for as long as you live.
