    History

As one of the oldest institutions for higher learning in the Western Reserve, Lake Erie College is proud to boast of its long heritage.  From its start as a female seminary, to a co-educational institution of today offering undergraduate and graduate degrees to individuals of all ages, the College has come a long way!

Over 10,000 individuals have graduated from this fine institution and all have left their mark on the campus in some way. Many others have contributed to the campus as faculty, staff or friend. Collectively, we have made Lake Erie College what it is today – a beautiful, vibrant campus of individuals dedicated to learning and growth.
