The Association Montessori Internationale (AMI)
The Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) was founded by Maria Montessori in 1929. It is the only organization authorized by her to continue her work. AMI diplomas are recognized worldwide as the preeminent Montessori teacher certification.

Academic Year AMI Elementary Teacher Training
Foundation Course: (for elementary students who do not possess an AMI 3-6 diploma)

Elementary Training:

The Director of Training reserves the right to modify the course calendar as circumstances may require.

Additional Expenses
Students are advised to budget $2,000 for classroom materials, books, stationery, etc. Course requirements include preparation/purchase of a variety of classroom materials necessary for the proper functioning of a
Montessori elementary classroom.

- Art (drawing, sculpture, threads & textiles, painting, art history)
- Biology (botany, zoology, ecology, taxonomy)

Faculty
Greg MacDonald, Director of Training
Greg MacDonald is an AMI Elementary trainer. He has conducted 3-6, 6-9, 9-12 and 6-12 Montessori classes, has served as principal of public and private elementary schools, and is an AMI consultant. He also regularly appears as a speaker at national and international Montessori conferences.

Jamie N. Rue, Course Assistant
Jamie Rue has been an AMI elementary teacher for ten years and is a candidate for the AMI elementary Training of Trainers program. She has conducted 6-9, 9-12 and 6-12 Montessori classes and also serves as vice chair of the AMI Elementary Alumni Association.

David Kahn, Director of Adolescent Studies
David Kahn serves as founder and executive director of Montessori High School at University Circle. He has seventeen years of Montessori teaching experience, twelve of them as teaching principal at Ruffing Montessori School in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
