Classes Canceled and Offices Closed due to Weather
TO ALL STUDENTS, FACULTY & STAFF FROM PRESIDENT MICHAEL T. VICTOR
Due to the severe weather and high wind advisory from Hurricane Sandy and keeping in mind that the safety of our students, faculty and staff is of our utmost importance, Lake Erie College has made the decision to close at 2:00 pm EST on Monday, October 29; reopening Wednesday, October 31, unless otherwise specified.
MBA classes, both on campus and off-site, are also cancelled.
Please note that updated information will be available on the LEC website and via email service and Emergency Alert System.
Essential personnel (physical plant, security, stable staff and food service) are to speak with their supervisor for further details regarding their work schedules.
Please review the information below:
- Due to the high wind advisory, please use caution when exiting campus due to fallen trees and possible downed power lines
- Athletic practices and Equestrian practices are cancelled today, Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30
- Dickinson Dining Hall will be open normal hours today, Monday, October 29; Tuesday, October 30 brunch will be served 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and dinner 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
- Commuter students – please do not return to campus until campus reopens. Please proceed with caution and drive safely due to high winds and severe weather
All athletic practices and campus events, the EQ center ( including EQ practices), are cancelled this afternoon and tomorrow. Equestrian vans will run their normal shuttles as scheduled today. Residential students will receive additional information regarding food service and shelter in an email from Megan McKenna.
Once again, please remember that your safety is our primary concern. When leaving campus today, everyone is urged to use extreme caution in areas where you may encounter flooding and downed trees or power lines.
