Alumnus Timothy Basalla Named Ohio Lottery Teacher of the Month

(Painesville, Ohio) – Lake Erie College 2007 alumnus Timothy Basalla was named "Ohio Lottery Teacher of the Month” by Partners in Education for October 2012.

The Partners in Education Teacher of the Month award recognizes outstanding K-12 teachers and faculty for their excellence in the classroom; leadership, creativity and community involvement; and dedication on behalf of Ohio students. Basalla was selected as the winner representing the Akron-Canton area.

Basalla is currently teaching special education for third, fourth and fifth grades at Parkway Elementary School in Alliance. He graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in early childhood education from Lake Erie College and was a four-year captain of the men’s soccer team. He earned his master’s in severe/multiple disabilities from West Virginia University in Morgantown, W.Va.
