Lake Erie College Tribute Concert to Honor Professor Paul Gothard III

(Painesville, Ohio) - Lake Erie College music faculty, Flute Choir, baritone Dr. Andrew White, Dr. Mark Bell, Roberta Whitely, Todd Wilson, Cleveland Institute of Music Conservatory - Organ Department and the Community Chorus will present a tribute concert to Professor of Music Paul Gothard III on Saturday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Morley Music Building.

Professor Gothard has been teaching at Lake Erie College nearly 40 years, graduating from the College with a bachelor of fine arts degree in 1973. He also holds a master of music degree from Cleveland State University. At LEC, he teaches piano, composition and music theory and directs the Community Chorus. He is a member of the Cleveland Composers Guild and has written for a wide variety of music media, including choral, instrumental, vocal, chamber ensemble, theatre, dance and electronic. In addition to being an excellent pianist and composer, Gothard also enjoys fishing and hunting, restoring old Studebakers, flying and motorcycle riding.

The concert is free and open to the community. Several original vocal and instrumental compositions of Professor Gothard will be performed and commentary will be presented. No reservations are required. Morley Music Building is located on the Lake Erie College campus, 391 W. Washington Street, Painesville. Parking is free. The venue is not wheelchair-accessible.
