Maxwell for a lunchtime lecture on Monday, April 8 at noon in Dickinson Lecture
Hall in the Austin Hall of Science. The title of Maxwell's lecture is "Think Big" Innovation in a Large Multinational Company.
Craig Maxwell is corporate vice president of technology and innovation at Parker Hannifin Corporation, a global Fortune 250 corporation and the global leader in motion and control technologies. His key responsibilities at Parker include leading the company into new and emerging markets that complement Parker's core competency in motion and control technologies, and helping divisions implement the Win Strategy, specifically in the areas of innovative products and expanding systems solution expertise worldwide.
In addition, Maxwell oversees Parker's strategic marketing function, including economic analysis, market research, sales lead development and coordination of growth projects. He also leads Parker's new Corporate Technology Ventures area, which is designed to facilitate cross-group opportunities throughout the corporation with increased focus on leveraging Parker's broad and diverse portfolio of products and technology.
Previous to his job at Parker, Maxwell held a number of engineering positions with Stanadyne Corporation's Diesel Systems Group where he worked for 15 years. These positions included development, project, staff and chief engineer assignments.
In 1996, Maxwell joined Parker as manager, new product development Racor Division in Modesto, Calif., and was later promoted to division engineering manager. His most recent assignment was to lead Parker's fuel cell development program as head of Fuel Cell Systems Business Unit at the Fluid Control Division in New Britain, Conn.
Maxwell holds a bachelor of science degree with a major in industrial technology from Central Connecticut State University.
