US Congressman David Joyce to Speak at Soldier College Orientation

The U.S. Army will bring approximately 50 new recruits and parents to LEC on Saturday, October 12 beginning at 9:00 a.m. as part of program called Future Soldier College Orientation. U.S. Congressman David Joyce will be the keynote speaker.

The purpose of this program is to educate new soldiers and families about attending college when they finish their enlistments and return home. The five member colleges involved in this program are Cleveland State University, John Carroll University, Lake Erie College, Lakeland Community College and Cuyahoga Community College.

The colleges and universities take turns hosting these sessions. With LEC being the host site this time, the College will conduct the main briefing and campus tour and will provide lunch followed by an invitation to the LEC home football game against Notre Dame at 1:00 p.m. For more information, contact VETS Coordinator Bob Mastronicola at rmastronicola@lec.edu.
