Three From LEC Selected to D3KICKS All-Regional Team

D3Kicks announced its first ever All-Regional Teams for women’s and men’s soccer and three players from Lake Erie College were selected.
 
Sophomore forward Angela Bethel (Beavercreek, Ohio/Miami Valley) was voted to the women’s Great Lakes Region First-Team, while sophomore midfielder Joe Starvaggi (Lyndhurst, Ohio/Brush) and senior defender Justin Daly (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) were men’s Mid-Atlantic Region Second-Team picks.
 
Bethel led the 11-7-2 Storm with 30 goals, nine assists and 69 points, while recording six hat tricks. She led the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) in goals (30), goals per game (1.50) and points per game (3.45). She was also the league leader in game-winning goals with six and was second in assists (9) and assists per game (0.45). In NCAA Division III, she was fourth in both goals and points per game. She earned AMCC First-Team All-Conference, AMCC Academic All-Conference and ESPN The Magazine Second-Team Academic All-District.
 
Starvaggi led the 10-8-1 Storm with eight goals, 13 assists and 29 points. He was third in the AMCC in assists and assists per game (0.68). He ranked seventh in the league in goals and goals per game (0.42) and was 11th in points and points per game (1.53). He earned AMCC Second-Team All-Conference, AMCC Player of the Week and D3Kicks Team of the Week.
 
Daly was one of the Storm’s leading defenders finishing the season with four goals, four assists and 12 points. He earned AMCC First-Team All-Conference and AMCC Player of the Week, while concluding his four-year career as one of the Storm’s all-time leading scorers as a defender.
 
The men and women selected for the D3Kicks All-Regional teams were nominated by sports information directors from around the country. Each regional team consists of a first, second and third team made up of 11 total players on each - a goalkeeper, three defenders, four midfielders and three forwards.
