Lake Erie College to Host 5th Annual Mane Event

Lake Erie College is hosting the 5th annual Mane Event for equestrian artists at the George M. Humphrey Equestrian Center located in Concord Township, approximately six miles from the main campus, on March 18 from 4-6 p.m.

This year’s event is dedicated to the 2007 graduating class and will feature performances that include drill teams, barrel racers, miniature donkeys and miniature horses pulling carts. A dressage musical freestyle display will also be included in the program as well as
instructional comedy and a costume contest.

Equine-related art work created by students will be on display to be viewed before and after the show as well as during intermission. Those who wish to enter their horse-related art must submit it no later than March 15.

The focus of the Mane Event is to educate and inspire the audience. This family-friendly performance is also for music lovers, with most of the acts set to music.

General admission in the bleachers is free for students and the community. A decorated ring-side booth with the buyer’s name on it is available at the cost of $20 and includes four chairs. For more information, contact Patricia Racic at pracic@lec.edu, Emily Strong at estrong@lec.edu, or Armand LaCayo at alacayo@lec.edu.  If anyone has a question specific to the art display, they should contact Carly Schaeffer at cschaeffer@lec.edu.
