Lake Erie College forms partnership with Carver Financial Services, Inc.
In an effort to provide exceptional professional development opportunities to the local community, Lake Erie College has formed a partnership with one of the countries top wealth management firms – Carver Financial Services Inc.
“We see this partnership as one of the first steps in developing a portfolio of innovative professional development experiences for professionals and leaders in the northeast Ohio region,” said Dale Sheptak, executive director of the Center for Leadership and Professional Development.
Based in Mentor, Ohio, Carver Financial manages $680 million in assests for more than 2,300 clients worldwide. Randy Carver, Ph.D., founded the firm in 1990 to provide independent, comprehensive customized wealth management services to individuals, corporations and institutions.
Recognized by “Registered Representative” as one of the Top Ten Financial Advisors in the United States, Carver has appeared as an expert commentator on FOX, CNNand CNNfn TV and in USA Today, the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
“We not only wanted to provide continued education to the community, but also to develop other joint programs for professionals,” said Carver. Additionally, he views the partnership as a vehicle to strengthen ties between local businesses and the College.
The partnership will kick off with the co-sponsorship of Randy Carver’s 20th Annual Accredited CLE Update which will be held Nov. 29 from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at the La Malfa Center on Heisley Road in Mentor.
Topics will include, but are not limited to, “Charitable Giving in a World Without Tax,” “Reducing Potential Fiduciary Liability,” “Hot Topics and Recent Developments in Patent Law” and “ Long-Term Care Funding and Asset Protection.” Eight hours of CLE credit will be awarded to those in attendance, including one hour each in ethics, professionalism and substance abuse. Beginning in January, Carver will also serve as an adjunct professor of management studies at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Students, in fact, will assist in the planning of three conferences expected to take place in spring co-sponsored by Carver Financial and Lake Erie College.
