Partnering to boost local commerce
Lake Erie College launches initiative to help boost relations with local businesses
Local companies who are interested in finding an easier way to reach Lake Erie College students, faculty and staff need look no further – the College has launched the Storm Business Network in hopes of fostering better relations between its community and local businesses.
Benefits of the Network are two-fold – Businesses involved in the partnership will gain heightened awareness and increased traffic, and the Lake Erie College Community will receive a discount/incentive for patronizing the establishment.
As a Storm Network Partner, businesses will be included on the Storm Network page of the Lake Erie College website, which will list the business (including a link to the organization’s website, if applicable) and the discount/incentive available. Businesses will also receive a Storm Network static sticker to display in the window of their establishment to help identify themselves as a partner.
Furthermore, information related to each business and the discount/incentive available will be distributed to all new students and parents at spring and fall orientations, as well as returning students.
Storm Network Partners will also receive free tickets to select campus events, regular Lake Erie College informational mailings and a special edition Lake Erie College banner or poster.
The requirements of becoming a Storm Network Partner include: offering a product or service at a discount of at least 10%, attending the yearly kickoff meeting, giving the College the opportunity to distribute campus information from a designated space (flyers, posters, etc.) and paying an annual $50 fee. All decisions related to becoming a Storm Network Partner are at the discretion of Lake Erie College.
