Lake Erie College and City of Painesville partner for Welcome Back Concert

The City of Painesville and Lake Erie College will welcome students back for the fall semester with a Welcome Back Concert on Sunday, August 30 from 2-8 p.m. in Painesville Square. The event is designed to be an afternoon of music, food and fun in an upbeat downtown Painesville atmosphere.

This is the second year for the event, which is designed to bring students to downtown Painesville and introduce them to the beauty of the downtown square and the many shops and restaurants that operate there. The event is coordinated by the City of Painesville, Kappa Sigma Fraternity of Lake Erie College and members of the College business group, Students in Free Enterprise.

The event features local musical bands including Retro 87’s featuring 549, the Nick Zuber Band, Heidi Longauer and The Thrifters. Food vendors will also be available and informational booths will also be set up around the square featuring the many businesses and social service agencies that call Painesville home.

This event is free and open to the public. All proceeds from donations and event sponsors will be donated to Kappa Sigma’s Military Heroes Campaign, which helps to provide free housing to wounded veterans returning from active duty, and their families, throughout the duration of rehabilitation.
