Lake Erie College welcomes new and returning students for Field Day

Lake Erie College welcomes new and returning students to celebrate in the annual Field Day festivities Sunday, August 22 from 2-6 p.m. at the Victor Manor House on Morley Road. Students will have the opportunity to meet and greet with President Victor, the College staff and faculty and their fellow students.

The event features picnic foods, refreshing beverages and a variety of lawn games including cornhole, volleyball, bocce ball as well as a rock wall, inflatable bungee jump, tag football, a dunk tank and more. The highlight of the day will be the traditional tug o’ war contest.

“Every year WOW (events that welcome students to the College and its traditions) and Student Life strive to make the Field Day event bigger and better than it was the year before,” said Travis Rose, coordinator of student activities and cultural programs. “It is the greatest picnic you will ever attend,” he added.

Incoming freshmen are especially excited to attend the event. “I’m looking forward to meeting other students and the faculty and staff,” said Chris Fusco, wrestler from Columbus, Ohio who is majoring in Marketing.

Sara Coe said, “I heard about Field Day in a pamphlet I received in a packet. I am excited to be able to socialize with my friends and people I have not yet met.” Coe is from Cassville, New York and is majoring in Fine Arts with a concentration in Music.

Buses will be available for students to ride to and from the event. For more information, please contact Debra Remington, director of college and alumni events facilities management and W.O.W. at
