Lake Erie College’s Football Team Participates in Annual Tradition
[September 10, 2010] – The Lake Erie College community gathered Friday, September 10 to cheer and witness the 2010 “good luck tapping” of the College canine mascot, Tiberius. Held on the College green on the eve of the Storm Football home opener, the statue Tiberius was flanked by the President, students, faculty and staff.
In keeping with tradition to bring good luck, members of the team first pat the head of Tiberius, followed by a handshake from President Victor and conclude with an energizing and motivational message by the coaching staff. The team and guests at the ceremony then sung the fight song entitled, “Here Comes the Storm.” The Storm battled the Michigan Tech Huskies Saturday, September 11 at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium, Painesville.
