Kappa Sigma Fraternity started at Lake Erie College in November 2007. A group of men came together with the same idea—to start the first fraternity on campus. Since then, the men have quite successfully made an impact on campus and are on track to become a chartered group in the Fall 2009 semester.
The Kappa Sigma men at Lake Erie are very involved around campus. Kappa Sigma has members in student organizations such as Student Government Association, Students In Free Enterprise, Student Activities Council, Students Acting For the Environment, and French-German Club. Kappa Sigma members also hold other leadership roles on campus—serving as Resident Assistants and Ambassadors.
Kappa Sigma also boasts an all-fraternity GPA of 3.171, the highest of any Greek organization on campus and also higher than the all-campus GPA and the all-male GPA.
Along with being leaders in and out of the classroom, the men of Kappa Sigma enjoy doing community service work at their Adopt-A-Highway spot as well as serving food at local homeless shelters. They also have some creative fundraisers—raffling off cash prizes, cornhole sets, as well as limo rides to Spring Formal.
Kappa Sigma is looking for motivated men who are seeking a brotherhood at Lake Erie College. For more information on Kappa Sigma, please contact Vice President of Membership, Carlo Gentile at cgentile@lec.edu.
