Student Life Office Involvement Awards

Much of the college experience is defined by the opportunities for campus involvement. The lessons learned through co-curricular involvement while in college are invaluable - and the students who create this other side of college life enrich our campus innumerably.
To honor and acknowledge our student organizations and student leaders who have risen to great heights we present the Student Life Office Involvement (SLO-I) Awards.
The Lake Erie College Community - faculty, staff, students, and recognized student organizations are encourage to apply and or nominate those whom we which to honor for the SLO-I Awards.

Outstanding Member
The Outstanding Member Award honors a general member (i.e. non-officer) of a recognized Lake Erie College student organization who has made significant contributions to the success of the group.
Eligibility:The student must possess a minimum 2.5 GPA and be a member since the beginning of the Fall semester of the current academic year (student may have held more than one position).
Outstanding Officer
This award honors an officer of a recognized Lake Erie College student organization who has gone above and beyond the call of duty for the betterment of their student group.
Eligibility: The student must possess a minimum 2.5 GPA and be an officer since the beginning of the Fall semester of the current academic year (student may have held more than one position).
Outstanding Advisor
The Outstanding Advisor Award honors a Student Organization Advisor who has lent their leadership and expertise to the goals and objectives of a Lake Erie College recognized student organization.
Eligibility: The advisor must have begun serving as the campus advisor since at least the beginning of the Fall semester of the current academic year, and be nominated by a student in a recognized student organization. Nominations are encouraged for both continuing and new advisors.
Creativity
The Creativity Award recognizes a student organization that has taken an innovate approach to programming or otherwise serving the campus community. Innovation is the lifeblood of the college, and deserves recognition.
Submission must include:
1. Event tile
2. Target Audience
3. Number of participants
4. Date, time and location
5. Program Length
6. Itinerary/Program Schedule/Format
7. Program Evaluation
8. Explanation of the creative and innovative aspects of program
9. Any additional information on program
Intelligentsia
The Intelligentsia Award serves as a means by which we recognize the academic accomplishments of the entire membership of a recognized Lake Erie College student organization.
Freshman Involvement
This awards honors the first-year college student who has consistently demonstrated campus involvement, leadership, and strong scholarship the most consistent and continuous level of campus involvement since arriving at Lake Erie College. The recipient will be selected based on their depth and breadth of contributions to the College community within their freshman year.
Sophomore Involvement
This awards honors the sophomore college student who has consistently demonstrated campus involvement, leadership, and strong scholarship the most consistent and continuous level of campus involvement this academic year. The recipient will be selected based on their depth and breadth of contributions to the College community within their sophomore year.
Junior Involvement
This awards honors the junior year status college student who has consistently demonstrated campus involvement, leadership, and strong scholarship the most consistent and continuous level of campus involvement since arriving at Lake Erie College. The recipient will be selected based on their depth and breadth of contributions to the College community within their junior status year. This award also requires ONE additional letter of recommendation from a Lake Erie College faculty or staff member (unless they are the nominator).
Senior Involvement
This awards honors the graduating senior who has consistently demonstrated campus involvement, leadership, and strong scholarship the most consistent and continuous level of campus involvement this academic year. The recipient will be selected based on their depth and breadth of contributions to the College community within their senior year. This award also requires ONE additional letter of recommendation from a Lake Erie College faculty or staff member (unless they are the nominator).
Criterion Requirements for the Class Involvement Awards:
INVOLVEMENT
- Participation in student organizations; involvement in community service and volunteer work; intramural sports and intercollegiate athletics; campus publications and College performing arts.
LEADERSHIP
- Leadership roles in student organizations; initiative in projects directly benefiting the College community; representing fellow students in College governing bodies; involvement in Leadership Development Workshops.
SCHOLARSHIP
- Maintaining a grade point average of 2.75 or higher; academic honors, awards, or scholarships, membership in College recognized honoraries; Dean's list recipient. |
