What is STEPS?
STEPS is a program that was designed to fit each unique student at Lake Erie College! Participation in the STEPS program requires students to meet with a representative from the Student Life Office twice during the year. During these appoiontments, students will have an opportunity to talk about their experiences at Lake Erie College as well as set goals for the future.
Four Year Plan
1. STEP IN - freshmen year
- Become Familiar with Lake Erie College
- Join a Student Organization
- Establish Academic & Personal Goals
- Attend Academic Workshops
- Get a Campus Job
2. STEP ON - sophomore year
- Explore Career Interests
- Run for an Office on Campus
- Network in "Major Field"
- Develop a Resume
- Consider Internship Possibilities
3. STEP UP - junior year
- Internship Experience
- Research Graduate & Professional School Options
- Continute Campus Involvement
- Establish Career Goals
- Attend Career Development Workshops
4. STEP OUT - senior year
- Prepare Graduate/Professional School Applications
- Develop a Personal Statement
- Research Employment Possibilities
- Attend Career Fairs
- Continue Leadership on Campus
