11th Annual Storytelling Harvest to open LEC Scholastic Book Fair

Lake Erie College will host the 11th annual Storytelling Harvest Saturday, October 13, 2018 from noon to 2 p.m. This event for children and their families is free and open to the public.

LEC volunteers will read and act out stories on the College Green, behind College Hall. In case of rain, the event will be relocated to Garfield Center.

That day, attendees may visit the Scholastic Book Fair in the Education Resource Room A10 of Garfield Center 11 a.m. to noon or 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds will support local literacy initiatives and programs like Painesville City Local Schools’ Book Box and the Salvation Army After School program.

The following week, Monday through Friday, October 15–19, the book fair will continue in Resource Room A3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Books for all childhood ages will be available for purchase.

Volunteers may still join. Student readers may count the Storytelling Harvest toward their community service hours.
