Alexis Richardson

Special Events and Student-Athlete Enhancement Intern

Alexis Richardson as the department's Special Events and Student-Athlete Enhancement Intern.  In her ten-month position, funded by a grant through NCAA DII, Richardson will develop and implement the student-athlete enhancement programming for student-athletes from all 17 sports.  She will also focus on academic support for student-athletes and a comprehensive plan encompassing campus wide and department resources.  Richardson will be a member of the department's leadership team and assist with the Tibbys, Storm Scramble and other signature events within Storm Athletics.

Earlier this spring, Lake Erie Athletics was awarded the NCAA DII Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant to fund this position.  The grant is designed to provide financial assistance to Division II conferences and member institutions committed to enhancing ethnic minority and gender representation in intercollegiate athletics.  It also promotes the creation of entry-level, administrative positions to encourage access, recruitment, selection and the long-term success of ethnic minorities and women.  Richardson was selected after a national search for the position.

Most recently Richardson served as the Lead Athletic Academic Advisor and Administrative Support Graduate Assistant at California University of Pennsylvania.  She assisted student-athletes in their respective plan of degree completion through working closely with them and coaches.  She also served as a graduate advisor for Cal U Women United, an organization with the primary goal to uplift and empower women of color, creating The Darla Holley-Holmes Book Scholarship this Spring.
