The year 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Lake Erie college Fine Arts Building (now Royce Hall for the Fine & Performing Arts).
You are invited to remember cherished friends, classmates, faculty, guild of the Arts, community performers and partners by naming a theater seat in their honor.
The Take a Seat Campaign kicked off at the 5th Annual Arts Gala on June 19. Proceeds will be used to maintain and improve the facilities essential to academic programs and activities in the Fine & Performing Arts departments.
Designed by award-winning architect Victor Christ-Janer, the new Fine Arts building quickly became the heartbeat of campus life, welcoming the participation of all students, no matter their major, many community artists and actors, and guest artists-in-residence such as director and classical Greek Theatre specialist George Vafiadis; director Martin Banham, founder of the Leeds University Workshop Theatre and African Theatre specialist; Pilobolus Dance Theatre; and the Great American Mime Experiment (G.A.M.E.)
How it Works – Your donation will be acknowledged with your name or other special message on an engraved plaque affixed to the top of the individual seat. You are welcome to purchase more than one seat!
