Discipline Specific Accreditation
Lake Erie College was authorized by the Ohio Board of Regents in 1856. In 1913, the college received accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Lake Erie College programs hold the following additional accreditations: statements, and advertising to provide fair and accurate information about their programs and services. Member institutions are expected to provide clear institutional contact information and, when HLC affiliation is mentioned, use an approved affiliation statement and provide HLC contact information.

Special Accreditation - Physician Assistant Program
The ARC-PA has granted Accreditation-Provisional status to the Lake Erie College Physician Assistant Program. Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status. The status indicates that the plans and resource allocation for the proposed program appear to demonstrate the program's ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards, if fully implemented as planned. Accreditation-Provisional does not ensure any subsequent accreditation status. it is limited to no more than five years from matriculation of the first class.
