Dr. Farenga presents at “Critical Questions in Education” conference


Over the past several months, Dr. Andrea Farenga, assistant professor of education in the School of Education and Professional Studies, has presented at conferences both nationally and abroad.

In March, Dr. Farenga attended the national conference “Critical Questions in Education” in San Antonio, Texas. Sponsored by The Academy for Educational Studies, the conference focused on literacy, culturally responsive teaching, and social justice in education. Dr Farenga’s paper was titled “Why Teachers Don’t Read and How it Hurts Their Students.”

Dr. Farenga holds a Doctor of Education degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus on post-secondary education, literacy development and instructional technology. She also holds a Master of Science degree in specialized educational development and a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education.
