At Lake Erie College, our faculty members embrace the ideals of lifelong learning, often representing the College at various conferences in their fields. This past summer, Dr. Andrea Farenga, assistant professor of education in the School of Education and Professional Studies, headed overseas for a conference hosted by the International Studies Institute in Florence, Italy.
Titled "Bridges Across Cultures: An International Conference on the Arts and Humanities,” the conference provided an opportunity for academicians and professionals from various arts and humanities fields around the world to join together and learn from one another. University faculty at the event came from Asia, Africa, Europe and the United States to participate.
For her presentation, Dr. Farenga focused on American studies, presenting a paper titled "Developing Multicultural Competence in American University Students.” To learn more about the "Bridges Across Cultures” international conference, visit http://www.washjeff.edu/international-conference-arts-and-humanities.
