Dr. John Baniewicz to speak at physician assistant 2018 White Coat Ceremony


Another cohort of physician assistant students will transition from didactic learning to clinical rotations following their first year at LEC. Marking this step, the 2018 White Coat Ceremony will take place Saturday, August 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Helen Rockwell Morley Memorial Music Building.

Keynote speaker John Baniewicz, MD, is senior vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer of Lake Health, a regional independent hospital system. He has over 25 years of experience in medical practice.

After joining Lake Health in 1992, he served as medical director of the Lake Health Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation from 2008 to 2013 and vice president of Lake Health Physician Group from 2013 to 2015. In his current capacity, he is deeply involved in recruiting physicians and continues to see patients while overseeing the Lake Health Physician Group.

A board-certified internist, Dr. Baniewicz earned a medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, the Rootstown-based medical school now called Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). He completed his residency at Akron City Hospital.
