Equestrian students to compete at IHSA Zone Qualifiers


Lake Erie College is proud to announce that the following IHSA Hunt Seat equestrian student-athletes have qualified to compete in Zones:

Sophie Sahutske: Intermediate Fences
Lissy Naber: Novice Flat
Sarah Dwyer: Open Fences
Heather Taylor: Walk/Trot/Canter

Sahutske, Naber, Dwyer and Taylor will head to Zones at the University of Findlay on Saturday, April 8, 2017 where they will compete for a spot at the IHSA Nationals competition to take place in Lexington, Kentucky from May 4-7.

Congratulations are in order as well for LEC freshman Sammy Rothman who has clinched the Zone VI Region I High Point Open Rider title. With this title, Sammy will be representing the College’s Zone as the Cacchione Cup Rider at IHSA Nationals this year! Lake Erie College IHSA team members have represented the Zone as the Cacchione Cup Rider at Nationals six times since 2010, with this year being the fourth consecutive year.
