What are the dates for Orientation 2017?
New students should register for one of the following dates:

  • May 19
  • June 7
  • June 20
  • July 13
  • July 20

New Student Orientation will be held from 9:00 a.m – 2:30 p.m. in the Arthur S. Holden Center.

Transfer Students should register for one of the following dates:

  • June 22
  • August 18

Any student planning to major or minor in equestrian studies, or who want to try-out for a major riding team are required to complete a riding evaluation. Students will be unable to register for equestrian courses without completing the riding evaluation. Riding evaluations will be offered on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, June 6
    (allowing you to attend the New Student Orientation session on Wednesday, June 7)
  • Monday, June 19
    (allowing you to attend the New Student Orientation session on Tuesday, June 20)
  • Wednesday, July 19
    (allowing you to attend the New Student Orientation session on Thursday, June 20)

What should I expect at Orientation?
New Student Orientation is a day for you to get acquainted with Lake Erie College! The sessions that you will attend will help you better understand what to expect during your time on campus and help set your goals not only for the year but for your career as a student. Orientation Leaders, faculty and staff will be available throughout the day to assist students and their guests with any question or concern they may have prior to the new year!

How do I register for Orientation?
To register for one of the Orientations dates, please click the side link or contact your admissions counselor. Note that limited spaces are available per day, so be sure to register or make any changes quickly.

I am coming from out of town, do you have any overnight accommodations?
Quail Hallow Resort is the official lodging partner of Lake Erie College, offering a discounted rate of $99/night. There are also numerous hotels in the area that offer a discounted rate by mentioning Lake Erie College.

When is New Student Move-In?
Any new student who is residing in campus housing is welcome to move in on Wednesday, August 16 from 9am-2pm. Students and staff members will be available by the halls to help make the day as smooth as possible. For any special accommodations, please contact the Student Life Office at 440-375-7505. Fall Athletes should check your Lake Erie College email for the most up to date information about move-in days and times.

Am I required to live in campus housing?
Any student who is outside of the 25 mile radius, under the age of 22 and has completed less than 64 credit hours is required to live on campus. Any student receiving an athletic scholarship is required to live on campus. Exceptions have been made and are reviewed on a case by case basis. This includes new students who have not lived on campus before.

How do I log onto LEO?
Lake Erie Online (LEO) is your student portal that will allow you to register for classes (after your first semester), access your student information, see your financial aid information, and more. You will also log into LEO to register for Orientation. A link to LEO is located in the header of the LEC Website or you can access it directly at leo.lec.edu. If you are a deposited student, log-in information was sent in your welcome packet. You can also call your admissions counselor for more information.
