Lake Erie College invites students, alumni and friends to attend a rescheduled performance by the Joe Augustine Trio on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. It will take place in the C.K. Rickel Theater in Royce Hall for the Fine and Performing Arts.
Having been postponed from its original date on May 12, the performance is one of many fun events planned for the Homecoming/Alumni Weekend of September 14-17, 2017. It will follow the opening reception of student and alumni photography exhibition, Through the Lens.
Joe Augustine is the Artist-in-Residence for Lake Erie College. A musician of over four decades, he holds a lifelong honor as a Steinway & Sons artist and jazz pianist. With drummer Jim Rupp and bassist Dave Morgan, he creates energetic performances that adapt to the mood of his audience.
Augustine has performed in over 30 symphony concerts; three solo, trio, and quarter concerts; and in other countries including Brazil, Argentina, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Antigua and the West Indies. Over the past several years he has taught courses, advised faculty on the relationship of arts to the academic curriculum, lectured, and assisted the College in its role of promoting arts in Lake County and the surrounding region.
The Through the Lens reception will take place in the B.K. Smith Gallery in Royce Hall at 7:00 p.m., followed by wine and cheese. Tickets for the Joe Augustine Trio performance may be purchased for $20.
