Lake Erie College presidential search underway


Lake Erie College’s search for its 12th president is officially underway. The College’s Presidential Search Committee, led by Dana Dennis, chairman of the LEC Board of Directors, has completed the development of a Presidential Search Prospectus and is welcoming nominations and expressions of interest for the presidential position.

The Search Committee is composed of select members from the College’s Board of Directors, the president of the faculty senate, the vice president of the staff senate and a current LEC undergraduate student. In developing the Prospectus, the committee considered input from internal constituents as well as alumni and members of the surrounding communities. The Prospectus will be used for all search purposes henceforth.

"Throughout the creation of the Presidential Search Prospectus, the committee gave careful thought to the creation of leadership opportunities facing the new President as well as desired leadership qualifications,” said Dennis. "The committee will be following a very focused timeline that will lead up to the selection of the next President of the College.”

Over the next few weeks, Lake Erie College will work to generate a candidate pool through a strategic advertising campaign and select communication to private and public colleges and universities.

The College is currently under the leadership of Interim President Peter Gerhart, as appointed by the executive committee of the Lake Erie College Board of Directors. Gerhart, the former dean of Case Western Reserve University School of Law, began his term on August 1.
