Lake Erie College Students to Receive Scholarships from Signature Power-Up Program

Six Lake Erie College students enrolled in the Power-Up program will receive a $2,000 scholarship for the 2020-2021 school year. Lake Erie College’s Power-Up Scholarship Program enables students to earn scholarships by engaging in activities throughout the school year that align with the Pathway to Empowerment program, a signature program of Lake Erie College.

Throughout the 2019-2020 school year, Power-Up students participated in several events, including:

career panels, field trips, large keynote presentations, Suffrage Celebration events, Sustainability Speaker events, internships, and networking events. Students who participated in and reflected upon at least three events per semester received a $1,000 scholarship for the 2020-2021 school year. 25 students in all qualified for the $1,000 scholarship.

Power-Up students were encouraged to go “above and beyond” this year by participating in more than the required amount of events and getting involved in various Lake Erie College activities and programs. Based on the submitted reflections, six students have gone above and beyond this year and will receive a $2,000 scholarship for the 2020-2021 school year.
