Lake Erie College is pleased to present the 48th Annual Prix de Villes of North America this April, a two-weekend event composed of high-caliber equestrian competition.
The Prix de Villes will begin the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, April 9-10 with the dressage competition, followed by the hunter/jumper competition from Saturday-Sunday, April 16-17.
New this year to the Jumper Prix; the emerging jumper division (2' 6") in both the sweepstakes and team classes!
Initiated in 1966 by Laddie Andahazy, the founder and director of LEC's equine program, the Prix de Villes has become a treasured tradition. Based on a team competition, the Prix de Villes format not only allowed competitors the opportunity to compete under FEI (Federation Equestrian Internationale) Rules, which was a first in the horse world, but it also laid claim to drawing some of the top names in the Grand Prix show jumping world including Michael Matz, Norman Dello Joio, Donald Cheska, Conrad Homfeld and Bernie Traurig.
The Prix de Villes has undergone a few changes over the years, including the inception of both the Open and Junior/Amateur High Performance Hunter Derby classes.
All events are free and open to the public, and will take place at the George M. Humphrey Equestrian Center located at 8301 Morley Road in Concord Twp.
