Lake Erie College invites students, alumni and friends to participate in the annual Homecoming/Alumni Weekend festivities taking place September 14-17, 2017.
The weekend will begin on Thursday, September 14 with the opening reception of Through the Lens. Featured images capture the LEC experience as submitted by current students and alumni. The reception will take place in the B.K. Smith Gallery in Royce Hall for the Fine and Performing Arts, followed by wine, cheese, and a lively performance by the Joe Augustine Trio in the C.K. Rickel Theater.
On Friday, September 15, the weekend will bring campus tours and our Golden Anniversary Luncheon at the Steele Mansion. Guests are encouraged to attend a documentary screening of "Women Outward Bound" before the evening's beer and wine social and clambake in the B.K. Smith Gallery. The night will continue with A Celebration of Life to honor the late professor of theater arts, Jake Rufli, and will conclude with a young alumni event at Red, Wine and Brew in Mentor.
Festivities on Saturday, September 16 will begin with Mrs. Weaver's Bacon Breakfast and a discussion in the Louise Price Social Parlor. Guests should attend a VIP tailgate inside the Jack Britt Stadium before the football game at 1:00 p.m. The day will also include a book discussion held by author and alumna, Holly Fitzgerald '67, and an organ concert in the Helen Rockwell Morley Memorial Music Building. Finally, all are invited to join us for a Cocktail Party with the National Alumni Board for awards, a meeting with President Posler, and class pictures at the Victor Manor House.
On the morning of Sunday, September 17, events will conclude with a celebration of horsemanship at Lake Erie College, including breakfast with the horses and a presentation of the therapeutic riding and western riding programs.
