Lake Erie College to launch Performing Arts Series

Lake Erie College announces its 2017 Performing Arts Series, to begin with a concert by Cleveland’s renowned baroque orchestra Apollo’s Fire. This concert will take place on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the Helen Rockwell Morley Memorial Music Building on the Lake Erie College campus.

Apollo’s Fire will perform Virtuoso Bach, including Bach’s sunny Orchestral Suite No. 1, the darkly brooding Oboe Concerto in G Minor, and the sparkling and beloved Brandenburg Concertos No. 3 and 4.

Tickets for the Apollo’s Fire concert range in price from $20 (students in balcony) to $40 (first five rows). Seniors can purchase tickets for $27 (rows 11 and back).

Other concerts scheduled in the 2017 Performing Arts Series are as follows:

  • Lake Erie College Spring Musical Arts Concert – Sunday, April 23, at 4:00 p.m.
  • Brass Band of the Western Reserve – Saturday, April 29, at 5:00 p.m.
  • Joe Augustine Trio, performing The Great American Songbook, Then and Now – Friday, May 12, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Les Delice, founded and directed by baroque oboist Debra Nagy – Friday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Quire Cleveland, performing Music of Henry Purcell – Thursday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m.

All performances will take place in the Helen Rockwell Morley Memorial Music Building on the Lake Erie College campus.

Subscription tickets for all six concerts in the 2017 Lake Erie College Performing Arts Series range in price from $55 (students in the balcony) to $140 (founders in the first five rows). Seniors’ tickets (rows 11 and back) for all six concerts are available for $95.
