The Lake Erie College Mortar Board Honor Society, Laurel Chapter invites one and all to join them for their “Come in from the Cold” fundraiser event at the Harry Buffalo in Painesville on Sunday, Jan. 31.
As the group’s main fundraising project, “Come in from the Cold” allows the LEC Mortar Board to sponsor presentations such as “The Last Lecture,” which occurs in April and features a special lecture from a selected professor for the graduating senior class, as well as the “Be a Better Boss” lecture that will take place Feb. 4. Proceeds will also support the costs of projects such as the group’s efforts this year to donate books to “Books for Babies,” sponsored by the Lake International Reading Association. Through this project, Mortar Board members purchased and distributed books for families of newborn babies at TriPoint and Lake West Hospitals.
“Come in from the Cold” will take place Sunday, Jan. 31 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Harry Buffalo located at 2119 Mentor Avenue in Painesville. Tickets are $20 per person and include unlimited appetizers and beverages (both sodas and house wines/beers), a 50/50 Raffle and a Chinese Auction.
Tickets can be purchased from any Mortar Board member on campus by Thursday, Jan. 28, or they may be purchased at the door. For more information or for a referral to a Mortar Board student, contact the group’s faculty adviser, Assistant Professor Betty Clifford, at firstname.lastname@example.org.Back To News
